This is for the SC523 (I just love this layout), the WT514 to use a foreign word- I used "merci", and the MIX103 to repeat something - lots of repeated circles on this card. I needed a thank you card, so when I saw Sabrina's challenge, I thought of one of the few foreign words I know...Merci. From years of school with kids from all different countries, my sons know a lot of foreign words but they all have to be written like this...**!?#$@** and would not be appropriate for a card. For some reason, this silly image of a lady with a big flowered hat popped into my mind, and, as often happens, I don't have any stamps that look like this. Words, colors etc frequently make me think of card ideas. This usually happens when I am driving...talk about distracted drivers. If I ever disappear compltely from the SCS galleries, you can assume that the mother of all terrific ideas popped into my head and I didn't notice the giant cliff looming ahead. I ended up drawing this funny lady and writing the "merci" in the corner. Colored with copics and prisma pencils, and added white gel pen highlights. It looked like something was needed, so I drew the repeating circle border. It is hard to see, but the pearl necklace and flowers and green dots on her hat all have a 3D affect from using liquid pearls. The circle border looks like beads because I added a drop of glossy accents to each one.

Fabulous, Francie! I simply love your circle border and frame for the lady - it took me two or three looks to realise that it was all one layer, and not cut out and popped up. And I think the French sentiment is perfect with your lady, because with the wide floppy brim to her hat and the tapering tower of flowers - it made me think a little of the shape of the Eiffel tower.

I absolutely love your cartoon lady. She looks fabulous and your card is fantastic! What a great talent you have. I understand your foreign language predicament also! I speak at least 6 different languages...all of the words I know are spelled #^%@* too! LOL

Francie, this jumped right into favorites before commenting! You draw, color and hand letter! If I could do these things I'd never buy a stamp. Your funny lady is A-W-E-S-O-M-E! So is your coloring! The precision work of your liquid pearls is fabulous!
