Hello! I created this for this weeks Mixability Challenge. We were to be inspired by the artist France Papillon. I have followed her for awhile now and am ALWAYS inspired by her work, she's amazing! I clicked over to her webpage this morning and my eyes were immediately drawn to the image in the header bar with the white background, blue circles, and butterfly, so I went with that!
I started out by collaging a piece of tissue paper to the 6x8 piece of watercolor paper. I then applied a thin layer of gesso over the tissue paper and let it dry. Next, I got out my gelatos and drew some big circles and then blended the colors with my fingers. I also pulled out a tan oil pastel crayon to create the aging and also just blended that in with my fingers.
The next step was to stamp the butterflies, so I stamped them in spots to make sure one would be in every quadrant of this album once I cut the piece up. I stamped the sentiment, and then cut the piece into a 4x6 piece and two 4x3 pieces, then stamped the sentiment on the top two pieces and the arrows. I am so thrilled with how this page came together!
I have a smashbook/junk journal going and have added this as a page in my junk journal. I'm using an 8x8 Project Life binder and the pages that you can buy with it also.
Thanks so much for looking!

I loooooooove this!! I am drawn to her banner image, too, but haven't thought to use it for inspiration. It's so fun to play with product with your fingers, and your page is a perfect barometer of just how much fun you had. Thanks for playing!
