This is my card for the HYCCT1431C challenge "Another Year In The Books" - to be inspired by your favorite children's book.
I'm an avid reader and have been since I first learned to read. SO picking a favorite was hard, and maybe the story of Snow White and Rose Red wasn't a total favorite, but it always kind of resonated. Being the less-popular sister growing up may have had something to do with that. I mean, Snow White got more than her share of attention, right? SO this is to give poor ol' Rose her due.
The image was stamped on vellum. heat embossed with detail black ep and colored on the reverse side with Spectrum Noir markers. It was attached to the back side of the die cut black layer and backed with a piece of silver dotted vellum and then a scrap of pink cs.
I placed the negative over the image and spritzed with silver Shimmer Spritz, but I really didn't like the way it looked, so I colored over it with a black marker and gave it a literal shower with sparkle Shimmer Spritz. The layered image was attached to the card base with Sookwang tape.
I can't believe another HYCCT challenge year is over, and I can't believe I actually completed all the challenges! I thought for sure I wouldn't make it!
As always, thanks for looking!

The less popular sister! I chuckled at that one. I always said I was lucky to be born a twin because as the youngest of five, I was sure to be forgotten! Now I feel bad for my oldest sister, clearly the less popular
Congrats on finishing all of the challenges!

This is stunning, Jody. You may have been second to your sister at one time, but you are top dog at SCS. Your image looks like a gorgeous stained glass window. I love the bold black frame. Right into my favs.

I am so sorry I missed seeing this and SO glad you were in the favorites! I love your beautiful roses colored on the vellum and framed with that GORGEOUS glittery frame in black! Genius idea to put ANOTHER layer of dotted vellum behind your rose image... LOVE that and it may need to be cased! :-) GREAT JOB doing all the challenges...
