This one is for Diane's Two by Two and Side by Side challenge. I had imagine this quite simple card in my mind using this stamp set. Things sort of got away from me as I got rolling (anyone else have days like that?). I started out piecing the couch then decided the girls would look better with pieced dresses too. Then, the body parts looked funny because they were lower than the clothes and just weren't "right." I added another set of head and decided to pop them after curving them. Well, that looked like bobble heads so I tamed them down a bit by tearing off part of the dimensional and gluing it back down. I stamped some Canvas for my jeans. I ended up popping the blonde girls arm as well and then went for it and pieced the legs too. I watercolored my images by scribbling marker onto acetate and used a wet brush for painting. Just when I had things as I like them, I laid my nice white circle down to add adhesive to the back and, you guessed it, laid it down onto that same piece of acetate with the result of smeared marker all over the circle, grrrr! So I stamped my image onto another circle and carefully cut all around my first piece and glued it over the base after adding some grey marker shading. I then went to add my scallop edge and smeared the sentiment!!! I erased as much mess as I could and decided to just go with it! I made my scallop with a scallop edge punch on a long strip. I then snipped along the straight edge of this then curved the trim along my circle. I wish I'd put my fringe up a little higher, but I'd already used my liquid glue and didn't dare risk messing anything else up!!! Closeups on my blog

Oh, you are more persistent than I would have been. I would have had it in the trash after about the second problem. But I'm glad you stuck with it. Because the card is very cute and all that piecing really paid off. and I can't see any smudges on the sentiment.

I'm so glad you persevered through to the end with this card - sorry for the hassles you had with it. This is adorable. The image and sentiment are so good together. I love all the paper piecing you did here.
This is fabulous!!! The color combo is gorgeous and I LOVE the two little girls! On more than one occasion my sister and I shared a small space. Gorgeous!
