Here's the card I made for my HYYCT challenge, My Hero - to make a card inspired by someone we admire or someone whom we look up to as a hero. I chose my sister, Brenda - though she's a pastor by profession, her love for people has nothing to do with her position, it's in her heart - she's someone who knows that the way to show love for God is to love people, and she does it with gusto and great humour through encouragement, teaching, and practical help. She's suffered pain and fatigue from fibromyalgia for many years and rarely lets it hold her back. But how do you make a card inspired by someone who loves motorcycling, rodeos and bull riding, when you don't own any images remotely relating to those things? I went with her favorite colors - in fact, if I saw a scarf, tea towel, or earrings in these colors, I'd just have to buy them for her! I stenciled a bg, and then added felt rolled flowers in her colors, adding some leaves and little bits cut from a flourish.

Wow, this is so striking with the bold colors and soft cascade of felt flowers. How lucky you are to have your sister in your life. The sentiment is perfect and now I may have to seek that out!
