For Bridget's challenge today, I thought of someone who inspires me although we never met - Maya Angelou's words have had a profound impact on me and have motivated me in so many different ways. I love her encouragement to women to find their wings and their songs. She would often say that people are more alike than they are different, and that truth has given me courage to share my struggles on many occasions. These stamps I designed reminded me of her spirit, and the poem "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" - he sings because he has a song. The line "she has wings" is from another fitting poem: "Be like the bird who, pausing in her flight awhile on boughs too slight, feels them give way beneath her, and yet sings, knowing she hath wings." - Victor Hugo
I used masking fluid to mask off areas of the bird in stages so I could get really clean lines and also fill in the background without having to be too careful. Jennifer McGuire has some great tips on masking in today's tutorial!

Breathtakingly vibrant and beautiful, Dina - everything about this reflects your artistic ability and your heart. You have taken that inspiration you've found through Maya's words and life, and you use it to help other people find their wings in art, thank you for that. Thank you for making a sample for this challenge, my talented friend!
Stunning, stunning and oh, did I say stunning? This is gorgeous. The neutral background allows a stunning visual pop with the bird. Thanks for sharing your inspiring words with us!
