Masked off a 1" border all around my card base. Sponged stenciled checkerboard using Hero Arts Butter Bar, Soft Apricot and Pale Tomato shadow inkpads.
Stamped dotted butterfly border in black at top corner to judge proper placement for my sentiment. Stamped the sentiment in Versafine black ink.
Stamped solid butterfly on scrap of cardstock using Hero Arts Tide Pool shadow ink. Overstamped dotted butterfly border in black. Raised up with pop-dot in center of butterfly and added 2 small topaz gemstones to butterfly body.
Finished off with my clear Wink of Stella pen, going over the butterfly and the colored stencil squares. (As always, the camera doesn't really show off the pretty sparkle you see IRL.)
Never the purist, I'm assuming my butterfly will not disqualify this as a OLC and am, therefore, entering it into this week's One Layer Simplicity Challenge to incorporate squares into your card. My squares are the checks in my checkerboard stencil.

Sweet design Debbie. Love the checkerboard stencil ... just cut one for myself last week but haven't used it yet. Love this design and color combo ... thanks for the inspiration.

Wow - love the warm stencilled sponging and then that pop of cool from the butterfly! So glad you joined us at OLS! You're definitely square enough to be "Hip"!

Absolutely lovely with the checkerboard stencil, and it really makes the sentiment! Just love the added butterfly (and to me, it still qualifies as OLC!). Hugs!
