Terrific technique to try as a black and white design, or try it coupled with mixed media.
That's just what I did. First I placed a drop of re-inker on my craft mat, sprayed with some water and quickly dipped my watercolor cardstock in the mixture. I dried, then dipped again in a new color.
Then I stamped the Penny Black image with Ranger Archival Coffee ink and used a Copic Multi Liner 0.3 pen to try all 3, etching, hatching, and stippling (the flower centers). I hatched the lines closer together where I wanted more shadow.
I added a large sentiment, and additional interest with dry wall tape and distress paint. I like the look, but I'd also like to try this in black and white as well. Thank you Lydia for a great tutorial today - you sure know how to keep a gal stampin'!
