Lydia gave such a cool challenge for the MIX challenge! Once I saw Dini's gorgeous card, I knew I wanted to try this for sure!!!
I followed the steps by taping off my water color paper, but I used water color pencils instead. I added the water and then the rice immediately. Maybe I should have let the water set the colors better Anyway, very cool look! I made a second card with purple and blues using the same technique because I like it so much!
Thank you Lydia and Dini for teaching me a new technique!

Beautiful card, Kathleen, and it's so good to see you in the gallery! Wonderful example of this rice technique, I love the colours with the leafy branch and of course, this VERY encouraging verse of Scripture!

What a lovely card! I like the orange & red palette but I imagine it is just as pretty in the purple and blue. You've set the sentiment just right, and I like that you used a leaf spray instead of flowers. I think the leaves give a more subdued look that I really like.

I am not sure what you would change but I'd LOVE to try and duplicate your awesome background on this! What an eye catching, beautiful gradient of color, Kathleen! It's so cheerful and upbeat with your inspirational sentiment! Good to see you in the gallery!

Wonderful colors that you used with the rice technique! Love the addition of the leaves and the way you framed with the black really makes your colors pop! Great job and we love having you back in the gallery. Love your new picture too!
