This is for Toni's great GLAZE challenge. The glaze I have used is 3D Crstal Lacquer - on the gumboots and the heart.
I coloured this with distress inks and an aqua pen. I usually work directly from the ink pad but I needed extra water as my aqua pen is not working so well. This is what I did....
Stamp image with StazOn (colour Ganache). Using a piece of aluminium foil, smack the distress ink stamp pad firmly onto the foil. Add a few drops of water, swish the brush in the ink as needed. Once the image was coloured I masked it - mask made with a piece of the acetate packaging, stamp with stazon, cut out right on the edge. Being clear you can see the image you are masking. Kepp the mask with the stamp for future use.
Smack some green onto the foil and more of the blue. Spritz with a lot of water - almost to the point where you think it is too wet. Using a blending tool and foam, lap up all the coloured water and make to sky and grass. I used the same blue for the dress that I did for the sky - that's how watered down it is.
On the grass area I randomly scrubbed some ink that had not been watered down. While mask still in place I added some flowers, branch/bird.
The wire heart was made by shaping jewelry wire into a heart. Choose a word from a dictionary page to place heart over (gracious). Squeeze in the glaze, dry overnight then trim around the edge with scissors. Glaze also added to gumboots.
Oh I almost forgot, I flicked a tiny bit of water on card and dabbed it immediately with a tissue. Thanks for looking.

This is SO wonderful, Susie! The image is fantastic and so is your watercoloring. I was fascinated by all the steps you took to create this. And you drew the flowers and scrolls? Love the doodles and the branch stamped off the side! The heart from jewelry wire is just brilliant! You never fail to amaze me and thanks for describing your techniques in detail!

I love the flowers in the corner and the arty scribbling to frame it..oh and the flicked water spots at the end...you did good! Favored and pinned...FOR SURE!

Love, love your colour palette in this, Susie. That's a very Irish looking sky you have created. And the gloss on her boots - I saw that first off. I love clear masks ;-), that's what helped me get my sparkle bird for Bev made pretty quickly last week.
Love the way you created your heart, too. I've done that with leaves but never ever even thought to try a different shape. Very cool!!
