This tag was a lot of fun to create and it's designed to also be used as an ornament if the recipient wishes to by closing the back of the tag permanently with a touch of glue or double sided tape.
I cut button shapes from heavy cardstock and layered four together with Aleene's tacky glue, lightly rounded the edges with a sanding block then covered with embossing powders or Globecraft and Piccolo enamels.
Note:
-The polka dot hearts were heat embossed first with white embossing powder then added dots with a VersaMark pen, covered with silver embossing powder and heated again.
-The star was heat embossed with Siam Silver and I quickly poured on Golden Glitz glitter before it had a chance to cool off.
All buttons were attached with Aleene's tacky glue then stitches added with needle and thread.
Paper: Recollections 120 weight (purchased at Micheal's) for buttons and back, shimmer white for the front base and to cover the stitching on the back of the front
Dies: Sizzix - buttons, Lea'bilities - star
Pearls, Mickie's - blue pearls (dollar store find), Eyelet Outlet & Brads - pink pearls (dollar for about 400, Spellbinder - tiny ovals and round pearls (dollar a pack), Kasiercraft - large and medium white pearls, all were attached with Aleene's Paper Glaze
The back panel is scored approximately 1 1/2" from the top, the silver embroidery thread was put in place, Aleene's tacky glue was applied then the back was closed, photos to go with this part of the creation process can be found on my blog in this post along with two more styles of tags.
You can find Globecraft and Piccolo products, Lea'bilities die and white pearls at the SweetStamps store.
