Editorial note ;-) ~ I thought "shreds and patches" was a quote from Gilbert and Sullivan's Mikado, when I thought of it for my title. But when I googled to check, apparently it goes back even further to Hamlet.
For Ky's MIX77 Patched challenge.
I opted not to leave the house in a torrential thunderstorm this morning and took a later bus to work which gave me time to pull a few scraps off my desk and some oddments from my box of magic. to play with when I got home.
Main base is sponged with Soot Black distress stain.
The next layer is a reject from something, I know I used TCW basketweave stencil and modelling paste, and sponged it with various colours. I stitched round the edge with a fancy stitch for bonus points .
Spellbinders lattice was another reject, it had been sponged a bit with white and blue.
I patched the pocket with 4 different background panels from my desk - green and gold embossing resist, a piece of Serendipity Squares, a wrinkle-free distress with stamping and a piece of collage stamping. The frog, butterfly and Verve flower are all from my box of oddments. Couldn't find my black Enamel Accents so I had to use Liquid Pearls instead.

Wow, this is awesome! You managed to make this all so cohesive with all those random scraps! LOVE your patchwork pocket and that adorable froggie. I see some stencil pastework in the background and that gorgeous crosshatched frame around your card. Such a great job, Sabrina!!

I loved reading your description of how this came together! What an amazing card, and pulled together into a cohesive whole from so many leftovers!
