The theme to-day was 'That thing you do' when you are not up to your armpits in paper! Well I do needlework. Tatting, embroidery, smocking, silk ribbon.. anything with a needle. I also collect..antique lace, fabric and patterns and I absolutely LOVE pin cushions..a lot!!! LOL The little one here is made from a recycled Sherry glass with a tatted doily (I made) on top and embellished with ribbon roses, mother of pearl buttons and ribbon..mmmmm! The card uses a partial embossing stencil (American Traditions I think) and the embroidery is Sulky metallic thread stitched with a very fine needle. I like to see the embroidery not the holes! LOL The silver layered piece on the edge is a piece of packaging that I scrounged from somewhere. Thank you to this challenge for letting me indulge my other passion and getting to show you.

I agree on the thread and not the holes, but I have to admit that I'm reaching the stage where I find it harder to thread fine needles , especially on the machine. That is so soft and pretty, a wonderful combination of the embossing and delicate embroidery. Thanks for including the pincushion in the photo and describing it so well. It looks like a little old-fashioned lace cap, like you see in old illustrated books.

Gorgeous gorgeous. I love your stitching and agree with loving to see the thread not the holes. Stitching is my "other" thing too but I haven't had time to do a card incorporating it yet. Good for you to have been able to do this. That pin cushion is beautiful too. That tatted doily is stunning (that is one thing I haven't tried). You do such beautiful work and I'm glad you took the chance to show it to us.

Oh my goodness, This is gorgeous. I love the color combo, and your stitching is perfect. Your ef, goes perfectly with your design. The pin cushion is gorgeous too. ( I must be hungry ), it makes me think of a ice cream sundae. I love the tatting too, I've never done it, but I have my grandma's tatting shuttle. I just might try tatting. Your work is gorgeous. tfs.
