This is for the current IO challenge, to be inspired by a song.
Birgit has a really fun challenge for the MixAbility today - Glue Art. I thought that the trail left by my glue would work well as a background for a dancing chicken . So this is my interpretation of the Chicken Dance song.
I trailed hot glue over the card, and when it was set I misted the card with a homemade mist, then sponged the edges with Scattered Straw. What else would a chicken be dancing in if it's not straw! Then I stamped the card with Distress, using Versafine Sepia.
The pink paint was done through a diamond pattern stencil - but because of the glue, it didn't lie flat on the card and the paint bled under it, so I just smudged it out more into circles. Then I stencilled Reverse Chicken Wire in black, and doodled a border round the edge.
The chicken was stamped on white card and coloured with pencils, distress inks and a Sakura Glaze pen for the beak and legs, then I cut her out and popped her up. Balloons punched from scrap and tied with black thread, also popped up.

Sabrina, everything about this card isfantastic. Your doodles border is amazing and I can't believe you drew it. The popped up elements give your card so much style and I love your chicken stamp. What an amazing creation. Love it!!!

Gosh, this is adorable! I love reading your descriptions, Sabrina, you seem to just go with the flow (instead of ripping stuff up and starting over ten times like some control freaks I personally know all too well) and you always end up in such an interesting place! I love this BG, and your chicken is perfect on top. Popping up the bird and the balloons is a great touch!

Such a cute chicken dancing it's way through straw. This just made my morning a whole lot more cheerful. The mixed media background is lovely and I LOVE the chicken print border. I'm humming that song you know.
