This is my card for the Splitcoaststampers Technique Lovers Challenge of Embossing Folder Stamping TLC482 from May 19th so I am a little late - but I have been trying to get to grips with the technique which I initially found very frustrating. My Craft Room is a mess from pulling out different embossing folders and different mediums and trying various colour combinations - but I have a ton of little samples to play with now and I absolutely love this technique and it is great to learn something new :-) Who knew you could do this with an embossing folder??!!
I used a Cuttlebug Victoria embossing folder on which I randomly laid down Distress Inks in the following colours: Antique Linen, Faded Jeans, Bundled Sage and Tumbled Glass, then sprayed with water using my Ranger Mini Mister and lay my smooth white cardstock on top and let it sit for about a minute before removing, pressing down with my fingers so the ink got all smooshed around (I didn't use watercolour paper as per the original tutorial here on SCS: Embossing Folder Stamping Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers
I blotted up any darker bits that stood out too much with a small piece of paper towel. I let it dry naturally then stamped on the sentiment using Peacock pigment ink and heat-set it using Satin Pearl embossing powder. I added the teal cardstock strip then diecut a heart from the same cardstock from the Memory Box Hearts and Stars die set using my Big Shot and popped it up on a 3mm dimensional. Lastly, I corner-punched the RHS of the main panel using a SU corner punch then tied on the twine. It really is a simple card even if it took a loooooong time to get to that point but I am so glad that I persevered!
Accessories: CB Victoria ef, Darice Hemp cord, dimensional, Memory Box Hearts and Stars die set, Big Shot, Ranger Mini Mister, heat-gun, Satin Pearl ep, SU corner punch, embossing buddy, cs: teal, white

That's one of my favourite Cuttlebug folders and I'm so glad you persevered with that technique because you made one wonderful card with it! Those are great colours you chose to put together and the twine and plain strip down the side add just the right touch. Great card! (...and it is a fantastic technique, isn't it?)

It's safe to say you mastered the technique! Beautiful results - love your colors. I had trouble with this technique, first I didn't spray enough water, then too much. Trouble is, once you get a grasp on it you don't want to stop.

I love the colours in this, especially with the dark teal strip and sentiment. The ef you've used is great - for me it gives a sort of batik look to your stamped piece.
