Today's Mixability challenge was to do a faux tile effect by preparing a bg then masking off areas to create grout lines with paint. I decided I wanted to try a faux paneling effect with the same method. I stamped my Hardwood in Espresso on Crumb Cake then sponged on a bunch of Suede. I masked off my panels leaving narrow strips uncovered for the panel lines. I daubed the paint over this and removed the tape before the paint dried. I guess I'd pressed the tape down harder than I should because I pulled off some of the paper. Luckily this just added to the wood look when I sponged over it again. I had seen this pretty card on Pinterest and decided to make a similar banner. I used some hardware store twine and popped my punched, sponged pennants and banners over this, popping a couple on dimensionals.

Look at you always thinking! Love the twist on the faux tile challenge, and if you hadn't said anything I wouldn't have known you lifted the surface off the paper with the masking tape. It's an awesome card. Thanks so much for playing the Mix-ability challenge!
