Here we are at Teapot Tuesday and our cards are going to splitcoaststamper iluvscrapping aka JoAnn of Arcadia FL, to let her know she is in our thoughts.
Marie aka Momof5sons, gave us a terrific story this week about Heather Hill the rabbit and her cousins Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail and Petra. Our challenge is to bring a touch of spring and new life, like butterflies and bunnies.
I have 5 butterfly punches and 4 butterfly dies….I know this because I leant all of them to a friend last Friday ‘cos I hardly use them !!!!! I don’t have a rabbit stamp, but our sweet Teapotter Miss Gabby, sent me a very cute teddy bear stamp. I spent a better part of this morning trying to make the bear look like a rabbit. Teddy the bear now looks like Teddy the Transvestite, so here we have it….a centre step card with roses – not a bunny or a butterfly in sight.
I cut (accidentally broke) the Cheery Lynn flourish in half and used it on each side of the card. Trellis was made with a Martha Stewart border punch. I discovered something interesting about the papers – the Scott’s Rose image was cut from a sheet of Pion Design –Vintage Garden paper. The blue trellis and paper on the back steps are Graphic45 – Secret Garden Collection. Now for the interesting part – the exact same Scott’s Roses image is also in the Graphic45 papers. Hmmm I may have exposed a copyright scandal. If I am interviewed by Interpol, I will be sure to mention SCS. I changed the image a little by swishing a bit of distress ink on the image and also coloured up the roses and leaves with Zig Wink of Stella brushes.
As for me, it is all quiet on the western front – no spills, injuries, fires….makes for a very pleasant change LOL.
Have a great week everyone.

What gorgeous papers, Susie! This is beautiful and so elegant for her! I can't stop laughing about the teddy bear so thanks for my good morning chuckle again. The border punch is exquisite and love the bit of inking of the image to give it such a beautiful, vintage look! I like the cheery lynn die even better in two parts!

Wow!! This is just gorgeous, Susie!! I love the dirty little secret that you discovered with your crafty sleuthing. Your gentle distressing improved even more your lovely image. I love how you are able to make the most delicious lemonade out of the lemons of your mishaps. Beautiful trellis creation despite your paper adventure. Thank you so much, Susie for coming to JoAnn's teaparty - you are a true gem! Big Hugz from New Jersey!

Susie this is sooo pretty. I bet " Teddy " is just behind those beautiful roses giving them a smell. Beautiful trellis and roses touched with the swirly vines. Glad you had a peaceful week my friend. ENJOY...;0). HUGS

Phew - I was worried at first that you'd broken the actual die, and not just the diecut. Fabulous paper, and a great use of the centre-step to add to the garden feel. I'm glad, for your sake, that this was a totally event-free card!
