This is the card I created for the MIX60 challenge "The Printed Word" - to incorporate printed text, such as an old book page or even newsprint, into your mixed media project.
I tore a page from a discarded library book and painted it with a layer of gesso, let it dry, scribbled Distress Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Peeled Paint markers over it, misted heavily and let it dry. I added a few clouds with acrylic paint but they pretty much got covered by stamping the tree. I added some Mowed Lawn Distress paint with a fan brush and stamped the prairie grass with Mowed Lawn ink, stamping off a couple of times.
I added blooms to the tree with a Spun Sugar Distress marker, a Sharpie Precision marker in bright pink, and tiny dots of a pale pink craft acrylic. There are also tiny yellow blooms on the prairie grass - dots of Mustard Seed Distress paint.
The piece was trimmed to size and layered behind the piece of acetate that lines the window. I covered the inside of the card front with a piece of plain white cs and placed the window frame back into its negative space, attaching it to the acetate with Sookwang tape,
As always, thanks for looking!

That is really a beautiful scene outside the window....looking like Spring. Wonderful mix-ability card.
