This is the first sample I made for this week's TLC challenge, No-line Piercing.
I stamped the daffodil on the back of some watercolour paper and pierced. From the front, I wet the daffodil area and coloured with re-inkers - squeezed lemonade, mustard seed, wild honey, shabby shutters, peeled paint. I loved the way the piercing seemed to create a surface tension on the water which held the colours within the design and forced them to mix with each other. I'd only ever tried this technique with simple line designs before, so it was fun to use Dina's tutorial and add colour to an image.
I sponged carefully through the trellis stencil, and then sponged in some green foreground. The bee is made with scraps - the wings are vellum and I did add some sparkle with a Sakura glaze pen. I felt like dressing it up a bit from my usual plain mounting, so I added some ribbon. To tie the green layer in with the stencilled trellis I used a folder called Quilting and sanded it after embossing.
Daffodils are out all over here now - my MIL sent me a big bunch one day, and then DH came home with another bunch as an offering when he was late home from house-church on Wednesday and had forgotten his cellphone so he couldn't let me know he'd be so late ;-).

This daffodil is gorgeous, and what a great card it makes with the technique of no-line piercing. The challenge was a real challenge to me....I had a hard time deciding which image to use, but it was fun after all.
