This is for the LoveFest Heartfelt Greetings challenge and the Mixability challenge to create a misty effect with some black acrylic paint.
I messed about with some Distress stains on my craft sheet, spritzed on some water, dabbed and dragged my cardstock in it, and then let it dry. I then lightly brayered with a very small amount of black acrylic paint as I didn't want too much of the black to obscure my other colours. I stamped my image and sentiments over all that in black archival ink. And to add a bit of texture, I sprinkled a bit of charcoal embossing powder along the branch (I wasn't very accurate in where it landed but I figured that's okay in mixed media!) and heated it from underneath so it didn't blow off.
I bordered the image piece in black, and put it on a cream cardbase with another sentiment. I needed to make something encouraging for my nephew who's going through a rough patch and trying to figure out his life, so the idea of "heartfelt greetings" was perfect.

Beautiful card, Susan. I like your off center positioning of the design panel. The panel itself is BEAUTIFULLY done with your watercolor bg and lovely silhouette stamping of the bird.
