ItÂ’s Teapot Tuesday once again and we are going back to Surprise Arizona for another teaparty. Usually I have to look up the places where we are going, but not this time. Remember we had a teaparty there for Kyla a little while ago. Rosalia gave us a beautiful song for inspiration, so we could send some sunshine to our very own Karen aka redbugdriverÂ’s friend, Sharon. I hope our cards to Sharon are the perfect medicine she needs.
I didnÂ’t have any suitable scripture or religious stamps so I decided to try and make a card that looks a bit like a church. If you stand on your head and close your left eye, it does faintly resemble a church with faux stained glass windows.
Thank you all for your comments last week regarding my personal wellbeing, as some of you said, “who knew cardmaking could be so dangerous” I once knocked myself out whilst stamping, but that is a story for another day. Thank you also for the advice on repairing the hole in the wall. I think our Fran aka philsmom is truly a woman of substance; Fran gave a very detailed description on how to repair the wall using genuine building materials.
Before I could commence, I had to remove the acetate, cardstock and molding paste that I applied in my initial repair. Oh my goodness things went from bad to worse at a great rate of knots. You see, I was very gently scrapping the molding paste with the back of my craft bladeÂ….this was taking way too long as the paste had set very hard, so I thought I would heat the paste a bit in the hope that it would soften. This is when things turned sourÂ…..
I plugged in my trusty industrial powered heat gun, dialed up the heat a bit and approached the wall like a woman possessed. As I type this I am still finding it hard to believe how quickly everything happened. To cut a long story short as the acetate started to melt, an itty bitty fire broke out, ok it was a wee bit more than itty bitty, but not big enough to call the fire brigade. As luck would have it I had a lovely vase of roses on my craft desk, I quickly tossed the flowers on the floor and threw the water on the wall. Whew crisis averted.
I had to confess all to DH, the black soot on the wall is bigger that the original hole LOL. He just shook his head in bewilderment, and very quietly said it was good to be home. Ahhh life is one big adventure hey!!
Have a wonderful week everyone and stay safe at your craft desk.

I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT!!!! I really love the card, too. HAHAHA
How wonderful to have a complete disaster waiting to happen in Australia...I get a little tired of being the one in these United States. Perhaps we can get all the girls together and have a beauty pageant!!!!!! Or, we can just drink wine and PRETEND we're at a beauty pageant. Or just drink wine. I'm pretty easy to please.

Susie, this looks like a beautiful church yard, one where we can go and pray for guidance and or redemption!
Now, about all your mishaps, I hope your DH has a good life insurance policy on you and the house! Oh the life of a stamper/crafter!

What a stunning creation, Susie! Someone with the skills to create this beauty should have no trouble repairing a hole in the wall, but it sounds like it may be time to all in reinforcements!

Laughing here as I was imagining myself standing on my heard, looking with one eye and have hubby come in and say you have gone bonkers for sure---LOL. Such a sweet card, you can make anything look great and always have a story to go with it. Beautiful card indeed.

I see your pretty church with the bricks with soft shimmer and lovely stained glass windows! Then the churchyard with beautiful trees! Love it all Susie, you are so creative!!!
Now, as for your latest "mis" adventure, please be careful! Maybe no heating tool unless DH is home ;) One day you should write a book!

Susie, is this really a card? Isn't it a photo of a gate into a secret garden, and aren't the doors entrances to sacred places? This card is stunning! You are a true artist with paper! I totally love this!

I was going to come back, after my lunch, to leave comments on cards but could not go past this one now, Susie - oh, it is so beautiful!! It has a lovely, serene look to it with the colouring, sheen and stained glass windows - I don't think I will try standing on my head to have a look, though, as I have injured my thoracic spine/neck and just back from physio!! Always get a laugh from your stories and the descriptions of your mishaps - this one sounds pretty serious, though!! I think I would leave the repair of the wall to your DH!!

Susie, where do I begin?!? First of all I'm so glad you didn't burn the house down. I've missing in action so I had to go back and read your post from last week. I thought I was the only one who had punches that "were out to get me", I've had my share of close encounter with a punch or two. I'm glad that things are getting back to normal, I hope. And now for your card - it is truly a piece of art! You always do such fantastic dimensional work, but this time I think you have outdone yourself. The gates, windows and trees and the embossed walls are truly amazing. Hope next week is a calmer tparty for you.
