For this week's warm/cool ways-to-use-it challenge. I threw a tantrum. Because we're not freezing here in western Oregon, I'm assigned warm colors. SO NOT WARM! It's foggy gray and we really need the rain and mountain snowpack. In the midst of my snit fit, I threw together a card that I later decided is more appropriate for the mini-vsn challenge I'm hosting... so you all will have to wait for that one.
Then I remembered that the best remedy for rebellious temper is gratitude, so I made thank you cards using warm colors. I used a quilters' trick (wonky stars) to make this set. Can you figure out how the stars were made?

very cool Brenda, the only thing at the moment I can think of is you cut all of the layers at one time with a rotary blade of craft knife and paper pieced them... I so didn't want to do warm colors either.... But rules are rules, lol
Your cards are beautiful!!! I would feel sorry for you but its 11am and zero degrees (actual temp), and I know I have it better than my friends up north! ;) Even so, I guess it's all relative, isn't it? Definitely love the cards, pinned them to figure out later. They'd be fun in red/white/blue for patriotic cards...

Do you want some cheese with that whine? Glad you are getting some moisture, I know it's been dry in your neck of the woods. I'm not sure how you did the wonky stars , but they do look like quilting, and made for some very warm thank-you cards. Thanks for playing today.

It sounds as if it's warmer for you than it is for me! I love your stars, Brenda. They look like tiles...and what a great way to get a whole set of cards.
Really cool or should I say warm stars! Anyway, lovin' your wonky stars! High of 50 I think I'm ready to come visit! lol Really great cards and I love the way you put your stars together!
