Our momof5sons Marie, has given us a heartbreaking story this week. Our cards are going to the Schoberl family following the sad loss of their daughter Leanne.
It is not appropriate to have a funny story this week, but there is something I would like to share with you.
A few weeks ago a friend asked me about our Sisterhood of the Traveling Teapotters. I told her that sometimes we laughed and sometime cried and sometimes we laughed until we cried. I explained that we all made cards and then sent them all over the world to complete strangers. She said, ‘Why?” and I replied, “why not”. She really didn’t get it.
I saw her again today and she asked about this weekÂ’s teaparty. I read her Maries story and showed her the many beautiful cards in the gallery for LeanneÂ’s family. She read all the wonderful comments we write to each other. It would be fair to say my friend now truly understands what it means to be a Teapotter.
Big hugs, Susie xx

Susie this is beautiful, love all that you did from the embossed background, to the elements you added in the center and then your butterfly with the flourish and flowers. Great card.

Susie, did you also tell your friend that we enable each other to buy MORE products? I must get this rose m-bosser. My jaw dropped seeing this beauty. This is just GORGEOUS. I love the hidden panel as your only color and the pretty flowers with the oh so delecate green vines. This will bring comfort to Lisa and John as it showcases the love you put into your cards.

I have never paid much attention to the teapotter's challenge. You know the drill -- a busy mom, sick kids, house work, supper, and very little "free time." I always stick to the challenges that seem easier to my feeble little mind to make. I read about a little girl with cancer I think last week and regret to say I thought about making a card, but trying to get everything else done and sick children I managed to make some for church and that is it. I am very touched by what you all do.
Thanks for sharing your lovely card. It really is very pretty!
When my sister was seriously injured in an auto accident I asked my card making friends to send her get well wishes. She was thrilled with the beautiful cards and kind words that came her way from total strangers and to this day has them all mounted on display in her office. She has told many people that it was the cards that reminded her that giving up was not an option. Today she is doing better than anyone expected and her 3 children and husband know just how much "Kindness Matters".....
I want to be a Tea Potter. How do I Sign Up?

Susie, you are such an ambassador! Not just for Australia (we all want to come down under to meet you!!) but for kindness. By sharing what we do - for our destination and for one another - you really share the essence of who we are. No lectures, just action. I was so hoping that you would come to the Schoberl's Teaparty...to share with them the joy and amazement of how small our world can be and because I am in awe of your gift. Of course you never disappoint me!! I love all of the iterations of roses on your beautiful card. Your layered lattice panel is stunning, and I love the symbolism of new life in the butterfly. Thank you...you are an angel (I've known that for quite some time!)...so make sure to get some of those angel cookies! Hugz from New Jersey my friend!!

Oh Susie, you are precious! Even though your story isn't a funny one, it still touches the heart! I'm glad your friend understands and I am so happy that we have this group because it always makes me feel so good/right to send cards to those who need cheering up or encouragement to keep fighting the good fight!
Your card is so lovely. The soft color, embossing and trims are perfect, just like you my friend!!
