I needed some therapy today so I made a card for the FS. A very enjoyable gallery to browse, much food for inspiration; this is what I chose: WT288 My Heart held for Ransom by GardenDiva at Splitcoaststampers
I wanted to make a card for my older granddaughter, Clare, who will be 3 the end of March. Last May she had a seizure, couldn't find a true cause for it, did all the testing and seeing a neurologist, he gave her a clean bill of health in November, and yesterday she had another one. We're all rather perplexed and upset. I know that little ones can have febril seizures but that doesn't seem to be the case for Clare, as both times there was no fever present. This one was shorter lived and she came out of it on her own but it's very stressful. She loves letters, asked me yesterday how to spell my name, has known how to spell her name for a while, even though she doesn't know what it means. So I decided to use Tina's card for inspiration and make Clare Bear a name card. I used the hexagon shape so she and her parents can talk about hexagons. I tied some pastel sequins onto the twine.
I live over 3 hours away from my sweet granddaughters; I know I can't do anything about this and it's pointless to worry. So making this card was helpful and thanks for listening.

Oh Jean........my heart aches for your little Clare. All of my grandbabies (well they aren't babies anymore but always will be in my heart) are close except the oldest and she and her hubby and baby boy are stationed at Ft Campbell, KY. One of the most amazing things about this community of stampers is their big hearts. By sharing your story you will now have all of these wonderful people praying for you and little Clare. The good Lord is the ultimate healer. If playing in this challenge today has given you the tiniest bit of peace then I'm thankful for it!!! Hugs & Blessings

You and your DGD, Clare, are in my thoughts & prayers, Jean. May she be well. Your card is SO sweet...and I LOVE her name and how it is spelled. She will LOVE it.

Jean, I'm so sorry to hear your granddaughter had another seizure - I pray that it will be the last one and that they won't trouble her anymore. I'm glad working on a card for her helped you to feel peaceful today - it's such a pretty labor of love, with those little tags in pastel colours. She'll love the letters! I like the eclectic style of the fonts for the letters too.

Oh, Jean. I am so sorry. I don't understand from a grandparent or parent's point of view, but I had seizures for a big part of my life, so can totally understand that. I do hope she just grows out of them. She will love the card you made. Your "therapy" worked a wonder.
Awww, ((((hugs)))). That's a tough situation. You did a lovely job working out the anxiety. I love your CASE work and choosing a card with letters for your granddaughter is so fun! Great card!
