I had great fun making this for Toni's WT challenge. Both the treble clef stamp and the washi tape were in a Christmas gift (thank you, Lorraine!) and I was sure they'd both go with my Harlequin stamp. Last week's Layered Gesso Background helped me blend the treble clef into the background.
I followed the tutorial - gesso on the card, then stamped the IO Music stamp and the treble clef with Versafine Black. When it was dry I painted over a light coat of cream acrylic. Then I added some more gesso in patches, and some luster rub-ons. I mixed gold acrylic paint with the modelling paste and added it using the TCW stencil. When it was done, I decided to add gems to the centre of each diamond.
I added the SU sentiment with StazOn, to be sure I didn't smudge it. My Harlequin was stamped on the card and embossed, also stamped on white card, coloured and cut out.
I added tape all round the edges and burnished three colours of glitter on (gold, blue and purple), and then gave the Harlequin a strip of washi tape to sand on.
And then I had a glitter disaster. The box fell on the floor, and one tube didn't have the lid on properly. Not even one I was using today, which makes it worse. And it fell into my box of circle punches - so cleaning up was a lengthy task involving vacuuming each punch one at a time. But I still feel happy about this card . I half wanted to add something in the top left corner, but it would have covered some of the treble clef and DH said no - so I didn't.

WOW, Sabrina.....artistic to the nth degree. Sounds from your description you put a lot of time into this.....not counting the "glitter vacuuming" chore. : )

Wow Sabrina this is a awesome. I keep looking at it and finding something new. Thank you for your great description, it is like a mini tutorial and I am going to give it a go. Disastrous news about the glitter, speaking with experience, you will find little sparkles for months!!

Sabrina, I was looking through the Layered Gesso Background and saw this card. It is amazing! I love the background you created and your info about mixing paint with embossing paste to create color on you embossed pieces. The jewels are a great touch and I love your glittered edge. What do you mean be burnishing the glitter? Your image matches so well with the Washi tape!
