I've taken a few days to think about some of these challenges. When I saw the color combo I initially thought Christmas, but when I saw this cool table runner on Pinterest I changed my plan. Since the dessert was to distress, I thought the burlap would go well. The Elvis song (for Vannessa's HYCCT Elvis inspired challenge) that I was thinking about was "Can't Help Falling In Love." One of the only good things about my mom's cancer, has been seeing my dad rally round and care for her in ways I wouldn't have thought possible. My mom has expressed multiple times how much she has grown to love him even more as he has been such a good listening ear and support, and that is why I added the "all over again" second sentiment. *I ended up pulling off the heart with this sentiment and placing it inside the card.
I don't own any heart dies, so I simply folded my panel in half and cut one. I used the Canvas bg stamp in Sahara Sand to add texture to all the panels though it is hard to see in the photo. I stamped my trees in Old Olive having traced the heart shape so I could have them show up in the "window" the way I wanted. I distressed all my edges with the distressing tool. I pleated my burlap using sticky strip tape. I pulled a long double string of burlap and tied it around my upper sentiment panel then used sticky strip again to sandwich the ends of the string between distressed punched hearts.

You are right, the burlap, is a super addition to your card. It is very pretty, in a rustic, sort of way. I love the hearts. I just love everything about your gorgeous card. I understand, where your Mom, is coming from. Love never stops growing. All my best to you. your Mom, and your very special Dad. tfs.

Love the rustic feel to your card and such a sweet story of your parents too. Sending hugs to your mom too! Thank you so much for joining in my challenge for HYCCT this year.
