Just had my mammogram, all is well. My mother and her sister, my aunt, are both breast cancer survivors. They're both in their 80's so despite that, they have lived good, long lives. This card is for Kelly, a former co-worker, who is 36, has four children under 9 and has been diagnosed with a very aggressive breast cancer. A lump was found two years ago during her last pregnancy but the doctor was sure it was a cyst and did nothing. She will undergo two rounds of chemo to shrink the mass before she can even have surgery. We put a lot of trust into a doctor but this makes me angry and I'm seeing 'red'. So I channeled my anger into this card.
Lots of challenges covered today: the IC, this week's sketch, yesterday's FFA to do one of the breast cancer challenges (stamp_momma's challenge to use red, the color of courage), and this weeks' CAS (to CASE one of Emily's cards).
This is my inspiration for today: http://lover.ly/image/64213
I was looking at all the lovely red dresses and thinking how hard it would be to wear some of them after a mastectomy. Super choice of site by the way. It's like Pinterest for weddings. I like the search by color.
This is Emily's card that I cased: My Valentine-F4A154 by stampingout at Splitcoaststampers
I have always enjoyed Emily's work, have several in my favorites. I used similar colors, similar layout, changed the theme and stamps. I especially enjoy her use of patterned paper so I wanted to honor that. A good friend who enjoys my cards sent me two packs of this awesome handmade dp. Lots of good red patterns.
I'm sorry about the picture, it's so gloomy here today and while stamping on dp is one of my favorite things, the picture doesn't do the stamp or the papers justice. There is a lot of little writing on this stamp and I hope you see most of it.

Your card is just beautiful! I do hope your friend does well with her treatments! Yes it is frustrating when our Drs. whom we trust are not thorough and miss BIG things!
