Lovely Lee (LuvLee) asked us to make a card with camouflage either using dp, or making our own. I chose to make my own.
I was playing with an Impressability die yesterday trying to see if I could get a good impression, but didn't have much luck. Rather than toss my practice pieces, I put them in the scrap bin with the hope that I'd find a use for part of it. So today, I pulled one of those pieces out and randomly colored over the embossed areas with three shades of pink Gelatos. Looks like camo to me! Some of the Gelatos has a little shimmer.
Then I've been wanting to go a step beyond a simple card and do something different. (THANK YOU so much hostesses for making the challenges easy so far!) I remembered some fabric flowers that I had die cut some time ago and pulled them out. The fabric patterns look camo too, so I die cut a green layer for the bottom and made a flower.
I probably should have looked for a "fight" sentiment to go with the camo, but this one jumped out at me, so.... I cut the Labels Ten die, then ran it thru again to make it narrower. Smeared the shimmery Gelato on the edges and smeared with my finger. Just had to get my fingers in it since it is mixed media. LOL!
Sorry for the long description. Hope you like the card.

let me tell you, as someone who has been fighting breast cancer for well over a year now, my body has gone through changes I never would have dreamed of. I don't even begin to resemble the person I was before diagnosis and treatments. if I were to receive a card with a sentiment like this on it, I would probably cry, only because I haven't felt beautiful in a very long time. it is absolutely PERFECT for someone!
not every cancer support card has to have a 'fight' sentiment on it. sometimes just a reminder like this or a 'thinking of you' means more than you can know....
Wonderful dp that you made. Such a great background for that lovely flower.

Oh what a great camo idea with the embossing and gelatos! I love those things too! And I think it's a perfect sentiment for this month! I'm so glad you played along MOM!!! =)
