Make card base using watercolor paper and set aside. Next I cut a piece of the pretty paper and laid it next to the card base. Next I used gesso on a piece of watercolor paper so that any color I added would be muted and light. (You could also do this against a white base) When the gesso was dry I applied some color to it and then stamped the background stamp with VersaMark Ink and used clear embossing powder over that. This allowed some of the soft colors to come through on the piece. Now it is time to get your fingers inky! I just started adding darker, bolder colors to the piece. When I had it looking like I wanted I ran the piece through the distress machine and then used a dark color to go over the edges to add color there. Next I taped the embossed piece to the pretty paper and set that aside. Take a piece of seam binding and colored it with distress ink. I scrunched it and left it to dry. Once dry, I taped this to the pretty paper and then taped everything to the base card.
