A 7 layer card from me! I like 7 layer salad better. Is the world ending? I hope not.
My second granddaughter is due a week from today. We all thought she'd be an August baby because her big sister was two weeks early. Guess not. Patience, Jean, patience!
I found this card in Lee's sweet gallery and it prompted me that I had not yet made a card for the new bug: In The Pink by LuvLee at Splitcoaststampers
I used her general layout and look, with a few more layers(!) and same basic color scheme and embossing. We have tried to avoid going 'all pink' for the girls so I toned the pink down with more blue and green. I used a vintage baby card for the main feature (it was a card my Mom saved from when I was born!). I skipped the ribbon down the center and did a top treatment with the twine, vintage rick rack and tag. It seemed like saying 'love' was enough.
Did you know that it wasn't until WW1 that pink and blue were used for babies and that boys wore pink and girls wore blue? Pink was considered a stronger color. Also blue eyed babies wore blue and brown eyes wore pink. Before then most babies wore white because you could bleach it. Some Sunday trivia for you.
