This week in Teapotterville it's Tickle a Teapotter week. Whoohoo! Also this week, it's about having some summer fun.
Well, here in Sonoma County the county fair is happening. 16 days of food, fun and flowers. The flower show is beautiful, with the theme of In Our Backyard. There's horse racing, rodeos, concerts, and a large variety of crafts to peruse. As soon as you walk in the gate, the smell of kettle corn wafts upon the breeze, beckoning you to get a bag. Take a walk back to all the barns and you'll see bunnies, chickens, cows (I bet Curt is in there somewhere), horses, sheep and just too many to name. In the afternoon, take a chance and bet on the ponies, see where your luck will take you.
At 5:00p.m., join the parade, maybe you can be a clown
When the sun goes down, the midway seems to be even more alive, how about a nice ride on the ferris wheel, you'll get a fantastic view of the sun setting or see the fog sitting on the coastal hills. Need a little more excitement, go see the Monster trucks, or how about a Demolition Derby to strike your fancy (sort of like driving on I-80 or Hwy 101) no insurance claims here.
If you need a little escape from the hustle and bustle, take a stroll through the exhibit buildings. You'll see how creative the people of Sonoma County are.
The main thing to remember, HAVE FUN!
This clown is from a Joke De Vette pattern. It's been enlarged to 114%. When the embroidery is done, I used watercolor pencils for the coloring. Instead of coloring the nose, I cut a red circle and used a piece of dimensional adhesive, then did the embroidery.
I hope this clown brings a smile to the Teapotter that ends up receiving it.

Oh my, your description of Sonoma County Fair just makes me homesick for the good ole' USA where county fairs are the ultimate in family fun! I'm not a huge fan of clowns generally, but this one is so CUTE, friendly and creatively done - what a fabulous bg too! Have fun at the fair and have some kettle corn for me!

Jennifer, your county fair sounds like loads of fun with food treats and a lovely way to spend a day. Your description put me there....virtually. : ) Love your clown card and with the piercings, it has the look of a appliqued quilt....bet there is a display of them at the fair too. Fabulous as always!

Jennifer, you have come up with the perfect solution, Clowns and a fair. Sounds like such fun. What a wonderful clown. Love the embroidery, it adds great texture. Thank you for coming to the tea party today. TFS

Somehow, I'd expect the Sonoma County Fair to be a giant winetasting fest,(East Coast stereotype, I'm sure) but it sounds like fun. Your stitching looks fantastic.
