Geometrically speaking, all boxes are prisms. This one is a triangular prism. Dunno when or where this construct came from. I think I may have invented it? Maybe when I was teaching 3D geometry to 9-year-olds who liked to build stuff. Kids DO love the nets! Makes math fun. Anyway, the pattern's been in my files for more ten years.
With this one, I cut an oval on one face, backed it with acetate and put a frame over it. The prism can be sealed with adhesives, but I chose to use die cut buttons and yarn bows so that it can be opened and closed back up again.
On other occasions, I've tweaked the dimensions with this box pattern lots of times-- long and skinny or short and fat (like this one). I've even fixed it so it could hang vertically, like on a Christmas tree.
So, what do you think?
