Well... Nana B really got herself into a fix this week. She somehow scratched the cornea of her left eye! Nana B says,"When life gives you lemonade, you dig down into your treasure chest of disguises and pull out your eye patch and talk like a pirate until it heals - aargh! She also tapped the bumper of the car behind her in the parking lot (no damage to either car) Aargh! Grandpa Biggie said, "That's what your back-up camera is for". Smarty pants : P
So, today she decided to play along with two challenges! The Teapotters Challenge and the Color Challenge.
Nana B (that's me), created a card that combines the colors of Midnight Muse, Razzleberry, and Gumball. Those are terrific colors for a quilt don't you think? I hope these colors aren't to strong for the Teapot Challenge. I've been loving that gold leaf pen Katie Sims has been using on some of her cards so I gave it a try (I probably should have waited until I could see *laughing*).
My card is a 4 1/2 x 5 1/5 and I used the Nestabilities A2 Bracket Borders One for the edge of my card. My 2 inch squares are stamped with JustRite (I'm so sorry I don't remember the name). I colored them with watercolor pen and just a touch of gold. The frame is Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles.
The spray of flowers are a combo of white and blue (the blue is a little brighter than I would like). Again, Grandpa Biggie (a genius with Adobe Illustrator) said to change the color in my editing program (PSE). He was immediately banished from the stamp room! The spray includes some calla lilies, roses with white and navy ribbon. And lastly a few flat pearls.
This card will wing it's way to Folsom, California on Monday. I've included a scripture verse inside and will include a photo of the inside on my blog tomorrow. It's nice to play with the Teapotters this week - it's been way, way to long!

Nana B, I did not know you were a Teapotter, how exciting!!! This card is amazing, as soon as I saw it in the gallery I thought of all the quilts this week. I bet this looks incredible in real life. The colours are fantastic and I love all the layers. The spray of flowers sets everything off so perfectly. LOVE THIS!!!

Well, Susie (or Nana Banana, if you wish) for a one eyed pirate, you did mightily fine, including keeping your sense of humor with Grampa Biggie and his banishment for being a smart aleck about the editing program!! (I would love to be a fly on the wall to hear you two bantering like this!)
Your card, colors and design, is MARVELOUS in every way - if this is what a Spanish quilt looks like with its brilliant colors, then I want one!! Thanks for sharing your fun story and beautiful card!! You are multi talented !!

I am so sorry about your eye! Did you know the cornea is the most sensative inch in the body? The good news is they usually heal quickly. Now about your gorgeous card!!! LOVE the Spanish Quilt!!!! What a brilliant design and execution! Using the lovely die cut for your quilts borders is genius! That border cut is AMAZING! Love the quilt squares and your little bits of coloring! Your flowers up in the corner are beautiful!!! This card is so creative and pretty, it is sure to delight Karin and her family!!!

Poor Nana B! Grandpa Biggie would be well advised to keep his unsolicited advice to himself..or endure dire consequences! Your card is absolutely gorgeous! Every detail is pefectly wonderful even with an eyepatch. It makes such lovely cards maybe I should get one for myself! LOL

Susie, this is absolutely stunning! Being a quilter (well, former quilter...still have lots of stash!!), it looks so quilt-like and is an eye-popper! I love the fine details like a quilt, and the die shapes and lovely embellishments all come together so beautifully! I LOVE it!! (Hope your eye heals quickly!)
