I'm posting this unfinished piece to the MIX20 thread in the hopes that someone can tell me where I went wrong!
I stamped the Rubbernecker Garden Collage with VersaFine Vintage Sepia on water color paper and colored with Prismacolor pencils. I used a version of GOO GONE as a blender (bad advice?), applying with pointy cotton swabs, one for each color. I don't know if I used too much, or if it caused the ink to run in some places just because of the solvent quality of the material I used. Anyway, I was kind of heartsick, but I sponged over it with Antique Linen Distress Ink, hoping to disquise the pink spots. I added some black shading with a Prismacolor pencil and tried to work it out with a blender pen. Didn't work really well, the paper may have reached its limit of absorbancy. This is definitely not my best work! I'm hoping for some guidance. And some OMS...

Hmm! It may have been a combination of paper, solvent, and what you used to blend - I can see what you're saying, the color looks like it didn't move well for you. I have some watercolor paper like that too - that absorbs too quickly and doesn't let the color move on the surface. That kind of blending goes better on a smooth or lightly toothy paper rather than textured/absorbent. Hang on to it though - it will make a great base for some mixed media layering!

I had to take a sec and comment. I got to this one through the "redemption" piece (mix21). I love this one! I see the problem you had (because you point it out as a problem) but it gives it a true vintage feel - like an old postcard! :-)
