This is the birthday invitation for my son's 3rd birthday party! I wanted a car theme, but loved the tri-fold cards I had seen. My son saw me working and he wanted me to use the helicopter, so I made it all work!
I printed all the text on my computer and then cut the cardstock. I printed the banner (behind the helicopter) on vanilla CS, cut it out, and then used really rust marker to go around the edges to make it stand out a little more. I also used the same marker to draw the string attaching the banner to the helicopter.
The house and boy were stamped in black right onto the cardstock and colored with pastels. The cars and helicopter were stamped on white CS and cut out. I drew the road and "v" birds.
The tricky part was getting my words set up just right in the computer, but it was worth the effort!
I used 3" and 5.25" as my end measurements, and then scored 4" from the 5.25" end and scored 3.75" from the 4" score line! The green background CS is the standard 4.25"x5.5".
Poem:
Come to my party (on the banner)
But don't be late,
or you might not get to celebrate,
my special day when I'll be 3!
Please come celebrate with me!

This is fantastic. What a neat idea. My son is turning four in a couple weeks and I'm searching for invite ideas. Too bad "four" doesn't rhyme with "me."
