On this Teapot Tuesday we are sending some get well cheer to VickyDee's friend Marie.
The story was a ripper again this week. The May Festival is in full swing and Merry Soiree went shopping to buy all the food and wine for the festivities. Unfortunately evil Evi En Panne bought up all the goods. The Teapotters were asked to bring food, wine, hospitality and a touch of romance.
So here we are at Marie's Cafe. On the menu for the May Festival is a selection of 42,000 cheeses and wines. The young couple dining are too young to drive a car so they shared a bicycle.
It will be no surprise to anyone that this is a stair step card!! The steps were supposed to be in the middle of the card, but I got confused with my new cutter and this is the result. I made the window to fit by cutting a piece of acetate and then trimming the edges with paper. This was much easier to do than trying to fit a die cut window. The wall panels were made with an embossing folder.
I think we have established in the past that I am a lousy photograper. This card has good depth but it doesn't really show here. The little people sit about 3/4" back from the window. The planter box is actually a die cut window shutter trimmed down and lightly inked.
All the signs were done on the computer on white photocopy paper and then inked to get an aged look. The top of the card (happy) and the stripped awning are one piece of paper. After doing a border punch I lightly scored where the stripes end and turned it up a bit.
A push-bike die is now on my wish list, cutting out this stamp was a nightmare. The little fence is an interesting story. Last week there was a great tutorial here at SCS by Alma about turning dies into stamps, this lead to a discussion about the uses for kids craft foam. This little section of fence started out life a hot pink piece of foam. I die cut it, stamped with it and then reinked it and painted it with a bit of brown acrylic paint. The bike, signs and planter box were made 3D by using offcuts of craft foam, adhered with tape.
Thanks for looking ladies, I'm off to the post office now.

Oh, Susie, you've done it again. What a fun and amazing scene. The amount of work and love you put into these cards is humbling, and I am sure the recipients appreciate them.

Susie this (and YOU!!) are amazing! I love how you spin your own story line and bring your card scene to life! I hope that you send your story along with your card, because it is just too dear to miss! I love all of the wonderful detail and dimension (Your awning belies the depth of your card) and echoing what Vicky said - the personalization is such a special touch. Thank you so much for bringing your enthusiasm & talents to the Teaparty and being such a wonderful part of this challenge. Hugz from New Jersey!
