We we challenged to use one of the dryer sheet techniques on our YCDI19 card this week. I have been holding on to a few used dryer sheets for awhile as I've been wanting to give this technique a try.
I inked up my stamp with blue for the bird and lavender for the flowers, then used a green marker for the vine; huffed on it and stamped. That part turned out pretty nice. I checked to make sure it would show through the dryer sheet, and that looked okay too.
Then I had trouble with my spray adhesives. They were either stopped up or didn't stick all that well. But I thought the blue layer would help hold the dryer sheet in place. After adhering the dryer sheet, I used white ultra fine glitter, and that part worked pretty well too. I've had bad experiences with glitter in the past so was pleased to see that this worked. I embossed and attached the blue frame and decided to leave it without further adornment. I hope the glitter shows up in the photo.
I like the results; this technique has potential, but I do need to find a better adhesive for the dryer sheet. I need a little more practice, so I'm hoping to make another card later this week. This card also gave me some practice in using 3 colors on a stamp - you have to work pretty fast!

What I've used in the past (but this time I did use spray adhesive) was a Xyron machine. You actually run the stamped image through it image down in the machine and then put the sheet on it adding glitter last (and it does stick). I used spray this time because my Xyron machine was empty and I didn't want to run and buy an adhesive refill. Nice card!

Very pretty! I love the dryer sheet technique, and the bird looks so soft behind it. You did a beautiful job coloring him!
Have you tried Alene's Crystal Clear Tacky Spray? I've never had it clog - love the stuff!
