Another great Teapot Tuesday event, the Teapotterville Festival. The Grabbe and Runne Gang (notorious bag-snatchers) are in town. Larry Lowrank and Rob Rookie (2 of Teapottervilles finest junior police officers) are going undercover in an attempt to capture the gang.
Larry Lowrank chose a sensible outfit and wanted a handbag that would hold 42,000 things including his hay fever medication, a bandaid and calander. For some unknown reason he also wanted a fake Australian $20 note and a real Australian 5 cent coin. He wanted a clear panel on the bag so he could entice the Grabbe and Runne gang.
Larry requested that the front of the bag be classically simple, just somewhere to put his lace hankie and reading material.
OK now to the actual making of this bag card. I cheated a bit by googling designer handbags (classic and more importantly simple). I drew inspiration from Louis Vuitton LOL. I had this terrific imitation crocodile skin A4 paper in my stash, I only covered the back of the card in, but used it for little pockets on the front. I used a piece of acetate to make a working pocket. The contents have been stuck down in the odd spot so they don't move around in the post.
I couldn't get a pen to show up on the brown croc paper so I used my paper piercer and made holes to look like stitching. On the front of the card near the top you will see a gentle fold line 1/2" from the top going all the way across the card. I always do this on cards that have a top fold to stop them splaying open to much. I apply a half inch piece of tape across the width of the card, then gently score underneath it, then bend it back a little bit. This is also a handy trick on centre fold cards.
I had heaps of fun making this and I am looking forward to tickling a fellow teapotter. Oh I forgot to say, the large pocket on the front will hold a note for the recipient. Have a great week everyone.

Oh wow. Every week I am amazed at the amount of thought and detail you put into your wonderful creations. This man bag is no exception. Lace hankie, LOL. The leather thong makes a great handle.
