This card is just for fun, I hope it gives you a little chuckle
The two fish in the background are talking (who knew they could talk? and one says to the other,
"I heard..." and on the inside it says, "he was Captain of the swim team too!" Waat waaaah! LOL Hey luckily I don't have to make a living as a comedian! LOL
Okay this is for two challenges. The first is Jeanne's Write On challenge. I (ugh) wrote my sentiment and added some bubbles. I don't really care for my handwriting, so better to keep that to a minimum! The card is also for Stef's Inspiration Challenge over at Dry Goods. Here is how this whole card got started: http://www.drygoodsusa.com/Product.a...88&Sale=n&pg=1
I have had this cute QuicKutz glasses die for a little bit and hadn't used it yet. So that was the first reason. The second reason, I just bought the beautiful Kelp stamp and it came in the mail today...so of course I couldn't wait to use it! It is directly stamped onto the cardstock and colored with YG00 and YG23. The other seaweed is part of the Coloring Pages (digital) and is colored with YR23 and the two smaller fish are also part of that page. All the fish and the seaweed are fussy cut. The big fish (must be the one that got away...) is a KennyK digi and I tried to figure out the best size to go along with the glasses.
The background was made with acrylic paint on an old big shot plate that was all scratched up. Just add a few blobs and brayer (see I do use it!) it smooth. Then smash your cardstock onto it and let it dry. Easy peasy!
Thanks for taking a peek, hope the jokes weren't too bad and if not....It's the weekend...did that make you smile?

I love cards that make me smile!!! Your gorgeous cute card made me smile and your story had me chuckling out loud. Thanks for such a great description too Kathleen, the background is so effective, who would have thought of painting an old die plate (other than you of course). Straight into My Favs. TFS

SUPER CUTE card! Like the fish and that's a great kelp stamp. Cool bkgrd, too. I never thought of inking up my "battered" plates, although, I have been glad to end up with the groovy texture they give my cardstock.
