I chose this piece as my inspiration for today. I would have gone with a red bg but didn't have the right paper. It's really overcast here today so I had a difficult time getting a good picture..it may appear more green than it is...it's a rich teal color. I wanted to make the bg look like a moire taffeta like the actual piece so I used a bg stamp with versamark and embossed with clear ep. And I had the card all done but wasn't happy with it as the first image I used for the cameo turned out to look teeny tiny on the card. So I stamped this larger image and I like the way it looks..better proportion.
As an aside..did any of you watch the Saturday Today show today?? They took a tour of the PEEPS factory!! It was AWESOME seeing how all the little sugary treats were made..I know I'll be indulging later today (oh and FYI- I have a string of peeps lights on my stairway right now).

The inspiration piece is beautiful, but I'm glad you were out of red! The teal looks very rich and just perfect. And it does look like a moire taffeta. Beautiful focal image! How did you get that copper for the frame and border? I'm not seeing it in the info list.
And I have that Nestie set and rarely use it because it always seems so fussy. It's nice to see how great it can look on the right piece.

This is GORGEOUS, Polly. Your teal bg is beautifully done and has such richness. I imagine you "swooned" when you saw today's site! You came to mind immediately. Love your use of the German Dresden....you have a beautiful collection. Your image is lovely, but I'm taken with the teal and gold!
Bet your grandchildren LOVE coming to your home decorated for the different holidays. Happy Easter.

The colours are fabulous Polly. I knew exactly which item you had chosen..because I was going to pick that one too! I really love the addition of the sticker lines. As an aside ..I have never tasted a Peep! They don't seem to be as popular here in Canada and I have never seen them in our local stores. LOL
