This is for two challenges. TLC421 asks us to use a map. I printed a map of Seattle and then painted a thin layer of Gesso over it. I cut the butterflies and then used Poppy Parade ink direct to paper.
After seeing this mysterious Gesso stuff being used and people having so much fun with it (beginning a couple years ago with Dear Peggy aka MarilynPrestonn, and now by a whole host of people), I bought some. I was just so curious how Peggy used it for things like snow and how other people used it kinda like paint. This is my very first attempt, without directions, to use it. Who knows, maybe I will get as good at is as I am with run-on sentences!
My colors and style were chosen for CAS212 which was a picture of a red, white and black cake with poppies. I do not have poppies.
I thought the map-butterflies in flight symbolized travel and thus, my sentiment.

OMG...your creative butterflies are gorgeous and perfect for your sentiment . I love your drawn lines, colors and Gesso technique. I am going to have to add to my wishlist. TFS

WOW..love the lines on this and your butterflies are fab!!! You will be hooked from now on...it's fun playing in the "gesso". I had fun splattering it last week using a toothbrush (be sure you do it in a box or it'll get all over). Your card is lovely!

Those butterflies are really covering some large territory! I can't see your map under the gesso, but I can imagine how cool it looks under the flutterbyes!

Awesome combining of challenges!! This is gorgeous! I am SO INTRIGUED with all I am seeing with the use of GESSO. I almost picked up a small bottle this week! I am going to have to just do it!!! You are inspiring me!
