Today we are to use blues & browns for the Free For All Challenge(F4A155)! This is one of those cards I had sitting on my desktop and didn't upload to SCS for some unknown reason. Since the colors fit, I figured better late than never!
For card, I started by stamping the image onto watercolor paper. I used a combination of markers and reinkers to color it. I stamped a few grassy elements along the ground and used the Micron pen to sketch out the ground, water edge and hill areas. Markers were used to add some fall foliage on the far side of the lake and little blue was added to the sky. I used a lg square Spellbinders die and Nestie Resizing Techniqueit to cut out the white frame. A very thin black mat was added behind the frame before attaching to my scene. Finished card measures 5.5 x 4.25.
Thanks so much for looking! Closeups are on my blog: The Write Stuff

A beautiful scene Julie with gorgeous tree branches and lovely colors added with your markers. Thanks for the tutorial on Nestie rectangles. I've done that before, just a little different from your description. I've "pinned" your tutorial so I can always find it to refer to. Thanks for the inspiration!

How beautiful, and the way you colored that texture on that tree is so lifelike!! Glad you shared it with us, Julie!

Beautiful! that's where I'd love to be, sitting in O4J's adirondack chair from yesterday, enjoying a lovely Fall day at the lake! WOW!
