I just saw this new challenge and I've actually been working on a mixed media project this weekend . Our townhouse association is having an "art experience" this month and I signed up to participate. I'm going to show some of my cards but I also wanted to see if I could make some mixed media canvases. This is an actual photo (copied) of my g-grandparents and possibly my gg-grandfather (or George Washington as my nieces think he bears a resemblance to...I think it's more a Harpo Marx thing). I used many art supplies on this and did some transfers from old books. My matte element is the acrylic paint and the shine would be gel pens for accent and also acrylic glazing medium mixed with pearl ex which I brushed over the entire canvas when done (except the framed faces). I had fun doing this...great idea for a new challenge!

This is beautiful! I love the vintage colors, the layers, the image transfer, the family photos, the lace and buttons. Lovely. I'll be on the lookout for you every week

Polly, this is awesome. i think this new challenge is going to be a lot of fun, although maybe more labor intensive. you're too funny about your ancestors.

SO interesting and creative!!! LOVE all the different textures and your Swedish storyline is wonderful! Art that has you seeing a story and looking all around for more clues to that tale are the absolute BEST!
Your comment about Harpo is HILARIOUS! Thanks for the giggle too! FABULOUS canvas Pol!!!
