I made two of these for ladies in my "Naomi" S.S. class in larger format (4.75 x 6.75). There are only minor differences between the two, but I wanted a record of them both. I started out wanting to make a card using the Woodgrain Fence Die-namic that I won from MFT. Hmmm, what to put behind the fence? A garden? Nice, but how about a horse?! From there it just expanded to this scene that represents freedom to me.
I stamped the horse on plain white cs and colored it with colored pencils (no mineral spirits). Then started stamping the scenic elements and even managed to get some grass (Posh Stamps) visible between his legs. There are a lot of tall grasses (Stampscapes) in the foreground and I hated to cover so much of them with the fence, but it didn't look right when I put the fence any lower (or higher). The clouds are done with a Hampton Art stamp I found at Michaels for $1. It has 14 little clouds on it. I was afraid it would look too "blocky" but I twisted and turned while stamping and I bet you can't tell where one cloud-group image stops and another starts. Well – maybe you can't see the clouds all that well as they don't show up in the photo.
For those of you who, like me, hate to waste too much paper in layers, I cut out the center of the dark brown paper framing the scene. I can use those squares for something else.
No sponges were used in the making of these cards, but instead, after stamping I used a stipple brush to fill in some color. The sentiment is from MFT Happy Thoughts set. I hope these will give the ladies some cheer.

Love your card! That horse running and the fence, reminds me of when we drove through Kentucky. And I do the same thing when I think of it, taking out the centers for other cards!
