I am a real stick-in-the-mud most of the time when it comes to only using traditional Christmas colours but when I saw this week's colour challenge, I thought I could take one baby step outside of my box and use blue and red instead of green and red.
The challenge was to pick one of the retro colour combinations listed - I chose kraft, navy, and red. I used a kraft cardbase and kraft for the background for my ornament and the sentiment. The ornament is die cut out of navy shimmer cs (it's darker IRL than in the photo) and decorated with punched red stars, with a bit more red backing the sentiment.
But you'll notice that I snuck some green in there in the dp!!! I thought the dp had a bit of a retro look to it, to go with the retro theme of the colour challenge.

I'm skittish about veering from the traditional Christmas colors too. But when I see something like this, I wonder why I don't step out of my box more!
