This is for Ardyth's Vital Signs challenge - to be inspired by the vital signs. I'd have liked to come up with something funny inspired by blood pressure, but a heart beat was what came to mind first. We have a friend with a congenital condition which means he's already had two heart valve replacements. When he needed the first one he was really bad, and he was aware in himself of how leaky it was. He'd gone for a regular EKG test, and the nurse came back and gave out yards to him for not having stayed still as she'd told him. He tried to protest that that was his "normal" heartbeat, but she wouldn't believe him and went through it all again standing watch over him - with exactly the same result.
Alas, my chevron is too regular to have added something like "make my heart go pitter patter" to go with the "thoughts of you" sentiment, but I think it still conveys the message .
A2 base, black chevrons, the heart was stamped and embossed on a scrap piece of polished stone - it has gold mixatives on it so in some lights it has more of a gold sheen. It's popped up on foam.
Very clean, simple but clever with the chevrons and heart.
