For Christmas 2011, I decided to make tags as I was so inspired by Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas. The tag I fell in love with was from his 2010 collection, The Snowman. I had the die and created different tags for each member of the family. During presentation, they had to guess whose tag it was. My sister, Rosalind guessed right on all of them. This one was Mommy's. Her favorite color was red. The snowman was cut out with grunge paper and painted with the snowcap paint dauber. The edges were carefully sponged with Black Soot distress ink. His hat was cut out separately using another piece of grunge; blinged with red stickles, mounted to snowman’s hat and topped off with a rhinestone. The scarf was SU’s ribbon. The manila tag was mounted with Tim‘s Seasonal paper stash and distressed on the edges with Black soot distress ink. I embossed some plastic packaging, idea from Tim, and attached it with brads and washers (Tim’s Ideaology line) which I banged with his textured hammer. This gave the brads a worn look. The token on top says “knowledge”. I created an SVG file for the Noel, based on Tim’s die. I used my SCAL to make a .scut2 fie. It was actually wonderful to be able to produce different sizes. I had such fun making these tags. I was glad to get a chance to use that snowman die and give special gifts to all those I love the most in the world!
