My love of sponging allowed me to add dimension with beautiful blended colors. Somehow, I discovered Tim Holtz. OMG! What a man! Of course, there were is his tags. Another OMG! So, at the end of 2009, a year after Pres. Obama was elected, I decided to create a tag using some fake money with his picture on it. This was my first serious tag. I attended the inauguration that January to witness this historic event that I thought even my children would not see in their lifetimes. My daughter's High School Principal, Mr. Kenneth Gaskins, a great man, made sure that students from his school would go. Of course I tagged along. I will never forget that day. In gratitude for Mr. Gaskins' wonderful gift to us all, I made this tag for him. I used Tim's clear stamps, the clock and also the words. I also sponged and blended with distress inks. I found a grunge board key and used that with the ribbon tags on top. Pres. Obama's face was torn from the Obama money, the edges sponged. I was attempting to present a dream type look. The words stamped on were actually clearer than you see. It says: "To be all that is possible, we must attempt the impossible." Perfectly suited for this tag.

I love your tag and what a great gift. Lucky you. I would have loved to have been at the inauguration. What a historical moment to be a part of. I live in a sea of Republicans (rural Missouri) and I put a huge Obama sign in my yard! Back to the tag. You did a wonderful job on this. Its amazing.

Aww. Thanks so much for your comments. You know, during the first democratic primary, I must admit that I voted for Hilary as I was always a Hilary gal. I admired her so much. But, there was no doubt in my mind that Barack O. would be a great President. We as a country voted for HOPE that we will reclaim this great country. It was a wonderful moment at that inauguration to see all races of people singing, "Bye, bye Miss American Pie" all together. It dawned on me that the inauguration was about America, all of us. We as a people will get to where we have to go...soon! There is so much more to do. I have this faith in the US in USA!
Back to the tag...a labor of love!
