There's no doubt about it - whatever way I look at it I'm colour-challenge challenged. I did think about taking the easy option and making a green and red Christmas card which I need anyway for my May quota, but decided to stretch myself and chose blue and orange as my complementary colours. To give me an in I pulled out some Basic Grey Marrakech, and then chose a stamp to suit it.
A2 base sponged with Chipped Sapphire.
Image pane -I stamped the elephant on Bristol Board with ColorBox Pigment Sapphire Silk and masked him. Sponged in the earth with Walnut Stain, and then the sky with Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and some swipes of Dusty Concord. Added some foliage and grass from Kittie Kits with Forest Moss, and added part of a sun with Fired Brick. I'm not sure if the sun should have been lower down to have such a sunset sky, but DH says no, it's OK for an African sunset to have it higher on the horizon as it all happens so fast there.
It still seemed to need something even after matting, so I tried buttons but they were lost on the busy paper. In the end I added some copper WRMK hardware with blue snaps and added strips of deep orange card embossed with Mesh and then heat-embossed with Versamark and clear EP.

terrific card Sabrina, great job with the colors, I guess that is why they call it a challenge, huh, sometimes more challenging than others. Love the addition of the copper hardware, perfect.. TFS

Wow, your sky is gorgeous! I love the rich orange tones streaked with lighter and darker colors, and your bold blue elephant really stands out against the earthy scene!

Beautiful scene with the elepant and gorgeous card! Every time I see an elepant - it reminds me of a movie with Elizabeth Taylor titled "Elephant Walk".
