This week is "Tickle a Teapotter" week. How fun. It's also our first guest hostess week and Fran aka Philsmom has done a fine job!! I love it one of her monikers is Fairy Dogmother.
Anyhow, Fran has us going to Paris. Wow, it's my first time off the North American Continent. And I don't even have a passport.
Sad to say, but I have nothing that can be construed as being French , other than my Fleur De Lis dies, in my supplies. So, being that I march to my own drummer or hear voices in my head, I went the way of Paper embroidery and thought of the La Grande Roue or Paris Eye. Funny, when I googled it, I got more images of Paris Hilton's eyes than I did of the Paris Eye.
Of the many patterns that I have, I went with this one, as IMO it most resembled a ferris wheel. The hardest part was trying to get this sucker centered, (I'm off kilter if you don't know it by now).
Like a real ferris wheel, this one rotates. It's a little catty whumpus, but again that's me. Instead of using a penny, I diecut circles from a piece of the cardboard that comes with the Cuttlebug B plates. It's glossy on both sides and pretty substantial, so it works good and is not as heavy as 2 pennies.
The crystals in the center represent lights on the Eye at nighttime.
So hop on and take a spin on the Eye. The view is stunning on a clear day or night.
Bon Jour Mademoiselle.

That is very cool! I've never seen anything like it, I'm amazed that you did this with thread. I can't sew anything straight so this would have taken me hours. Beautiful card!

What a fantastic concept! Fabulous card. The Paris Eye! I'll stay at the Tuileries and you can wave to me when you get to the top. I'm afraid of Ferris wheels!

I think I did this design a long time ago. Don't remember what colors I used, but it has since been given to someone. I should do more embroidery on the newer octagon dies I've just gotten. But I like the way you put the jewels in the center and that it rotates.
